What do you mean by survey?

This survey will inventory the buildings built before 1980 in the greater downtown Dallas area — capturing their age, style, architect (if known), physical characteristics, and how they contribute to the historic character and context of downtown — as well as the public spaces, monuments and locations of significant events in the area.

What part of Dallas will the survey cover?

The first phase of this project will cover greater Downtown Dallas, but we have plans to expand into other areas in the future. See the map on this page for more information.

When was the last survey completed?

2003

How is this survey different than surveys in the past, or than surveys completed in other cities?

This survey is different because it will do more than just inventory our historical physical structures — it will also explore the cultural events and people that have shaped Dallas into the vibrant city it is today. It was also look at the context for the development of the different areas of downtown Dallas.

When will this survey project be completed?

It is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2020.

How is Embrace Dallas supported?

Embrace Dallas is supported in part by the City of Dallas and through financial contributions from foundations, businesses and individuals like you.

How can I get involved?

You can donate to our cause, which will help us hit our fundraising goal to complete the survey. You can also help spread the word about our project in person and on social media.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes, to the fullest extent allowed by IRS regulations. Contributions are going to Preservation Dallas, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Is it safe and secure for me to donate online to Embrace Dallas?

Yes. We use Neon CRM to accept donations, which has a safe online payment gateway. We also use Secure Sockets Layer technology to encrypt all data submitted to and from our donations page, rendering your personal information, including credit card information, unreadable to outsiders.

Can I mail you my contribution or deliver it in person?

Yes, you can mail a check to Preservation Dallas at 2922 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204 or hand deliver it to the same address.

Can I make a recurring online donation?

Yes, you may set up a recurring donation through the online donation page.

Where is my donation receipt?

Your donation receipt will be emailed to you. If you’d like a letter with the donation information, please contact Preservation Dallas at 214-821-3290.

Do you offer gift matching?

No, we do not at this time.

Will Embrace Dallas rent, sell, or trade my personal information?

We will absolutely never share or sell your personal information in any way.
